Our manufacturing process
STAGE 1
Organic waste
Elemental’s technology is able to process almost any organic plant or animal by-product wastes from meat processing, including cooked bone clinker from the stock process, gut contents, lairage, DAF solids, food waste, manures and chicken litter.
STAGE 2
Mixing process
Organic material is milled to a fine paste.
STAGE 3
Heating, sterilising and chemical conversion
Material is heat treated and subjected to Elemental’s patented chemical process. The natural heat created by the chemical process is used for the drying steps and the steam is condensed and used as water to wet down the inputs. Dust, odour scrubbing, wastewater, heat; it is all collected and all goes back into the process.
STAGE 4
Final process creates fertiliser
Material is then processed into a multi-staged release fertiliser called Thallo®.
STAGE 5
Application
Completing the circle of recovery with Thallo® spread to land as a fertiliser. Everything that enters the process ends up in the product. There is zero waste.

Completing the cycle
Nutrients and microbes in the soil nourish the plants that begin the food chain and feed us all. The end of that chain has been largely ignored, crowding landfills and going unused. Elemental completes the cycle by returning those nutrients and microbes to the soil to feed the next cycle.
